Living Cities

A New Vision and Commitment to America’s Cities
November 16, 2007

As part of a new strategy designed to bring opportunities of mainstream markets to urban neighborhoods and residents historically left behind, the Rockefeller Foundation will be making an investment of $4.2 million – over the next three years – in Living Cities.

'We would not be able to make a difference without the commitment of great partners like The Rockefeller Foundation,' said Living Cities CEO Ben Hecht. 'Their investment is helping Living Cities use a multidisciplinary and multidimensional approach that will allow us to improve health, educational opportunities, economic conditions and quality of life issues for low-income urban residents. Without their assistance, and the support of our other partners, this work could not and would not get accomplished.'

Living Cities is a collaboration of leading foundations and financial institutions dedicated to improving America’s cities and the quality of life for those who live there. To learn more about Living Cities and the partnership’s investment strategy please visit www.livingcities.org.
